This book was great! I loved the characters. They are fun and believable, even if they are a bunch of vampires. I highly recommend this book.
Daily tedium forgotten, I was spellbound and read this novel from start to finish in one sitting. Don't usually read MM so also got a gay friend to check it out- yes he thought the vampires were hot too. The hero, a twenty year old part-time Gym employee from an uneventful suburban American background, visits his Spanish father's ancestral village expecting rustic charm. What he gets is a sudden education in reincarnation and the dangerous reality of vampires. Caught in a war between vampire factions, Adam and his cousin Jose find that when even the good guys have to kill and drink blood to survive, choosing friends is not easy. They have not only their own safety to preserve; the lives of both their families are also at risk. Naturally, this is made much more interesting by the fact that vampires are sexy as hell, even the bad ones. Both Adam and Jose notice this. Love and lust well up at the most inconvenient times, so romance has to be slotted between vicious supernatural battles and startling revelations. This riveting introduction to the Aragon series leaves you excited and ready for the next episode.
The Count of Aragon- is the first in a series of books. It certainly lives up to what I was hoping for. MM- hotness with vampires! I love vampire books- or books that hint of vampires, shape shifters, etc and I love books that add the spice of life.. ** These books always make me feel a tiny bit naughty reading..** Quick over view- with out giving too much away- Adam goes home to Spain to help his mother grieve the loss of his father- while in the church- he meets a dashingly handsome man who stands in the shadows, wanting to know more about this man- he goes on a date and is introduced into a world he never knew existed- having to not only save his own life, but the lives of his family/friends. Highly recommend this book.. Alex has done it again and i can not wait for the second.
I'm not a big fan of paranormal romance but I am a fan of the M/M genre and of Alex Carreras so I decided to give The Count of Aragon a whirl. The fact that this book is a contemporary story swayed my decision as well. I quickly found myself caught up in this story and enjoying every minute of it. That's largely due to the way Alex writes. He has a way of putting his readers at ease and immersing them smack dab in the middle of the story. I read quite a few M/M authors and I enjoy all the ones I read, but I think because Alex is a gay man his intimate scenes always ring a little truer.

Adam Galindo is in Zaragoza, Spain with his mother to attend a memorial service for his late father. He soon finds out that he's there for way more because he is the reincarnated Count of Aragon, Aznar Galindez. Soon events and actions from his childhood start to make sense and then he meets Emerico Espiritu, a Spanish vampire who plans to show him way more than how to use the weapons he'll need to rid Zaragoza of the Romanian vampires.

Adam is such an easy guy to like. He is so unassuming and being told you are a reincarnated Count can no doubt mess with your mind. I enjoyed watching him accept and take on his new role to save his father's hometown. Emerico is a little harder to read but rightly so as he's a vampire with hundreds of years experience behind him. Because Adam is his reincarnated lover he feels an instant connection and at times I worried that he might be using Adam but it soon became evident his feelings are for Adam not his former lover. Their intimate scenes are frenzied, sexy, and tender all rolled into one. I found the added sexual enhancements that come from being a vampire truly inspiring.

Even though I've never been a fan of this genre, I found the Count of Aragon to be a highly entertaining and enjoyable story. The characters were interesting and I can't wait to see what's in store for Adam's cousin Jose and Leandro. I also appreciate that while there was a sense of danger in this story there is some humor to lighten the mood when necessary. Alex Carreras has given us a fascinating look into the world of vampires with a sexy M/M love story thrown in for good measure, well done!
